Preflight
Odoo ⇄ Shopify

Know what your sync will do, before it does it.

Preflight connects Odoo and Shopify with a dry run on every sync. See exactly what will change, approve it, and undo any run in one click. No more finding out at 9am that last night's sync rewrote three hundred orders.

What goes wrong with the connectors people use today

These are real reviews left by merchants on the Shopify App Store, about the leading Odoo and inventory connectors. Every one of them describes the same failure: the software did something significant, and nobody was told.

“Without any authorisation from me, the app modified the fulfillments of hundreds of orders in a single night — replacing real tracking numbers. I had to spend hours fixing the damage manually, order by order.”

“Stock just disconnects when it says it is connected. This leads to incorrect stock values. We pay $149 a month for premium support which they do not respond to.”

Shopify App Store · 1★ · February 2026

“Need to be very careful on syncs because it causes changes to entire store item information. Lacks field settings and the ones available are extremely difficult to set up.”

Five things Preflight promises

Not a feature list — the rules the product is built on. Each one answers a complaint above.

01

Nothing is written before it is shown

Every sync opens as a dry run with a full before/after diff. You approve it, or you set a rule that approves it for you.

02

Guardrails stop, they don't continue

Hard limits you set: never touch more than N orders in one run, never zero out more than N SKUs, never write a tracking number that doesn't match the carrier's format. Breach the limit and the run halts and alerts you.

03

A complete log, and an undo button

Every write recorded with its previous value. Any run can be reversed in one click, hours or days later.

04

A connection status that never lies

Not a decorative green dot: a real heartbeat and the last successful sync time per object type. If stock hasn't moved in six hours, you get an email — you don't find out from a customer.

05

Field mapping you control yourself

Visible, editable, no support ticket, no onboarding call. If you can read a table, you can change how your fields map.

Is this for you?

Yes, if

  • You run Odoo 17, 18 or 19 on the Custom plan, on Odoo.sh, or self-hosted — the external API has to be available
  • You sell on Shopify and keep real stock in Odoo
  • You have between 200 and 10,000 orders a month
  • You have already been burned by a sync you couldn't see or reverse

Not yet, if

  • You're on Odoo One App Free or Standard — Odoo restricts the external API to the Custom plan, so no connector can reach your data
  • You use NetSuite, Cin7 or SAP — we do one ERP, properly, and that ERP is Odoo
  • You want a fully automatic sync with no oversight — that's precisely what we don't build
